The First “P”: People
In the last video, we introduced the 4 P’s: the framework that helps you bring clarity and intention to your next move. Now, we start with the first and most important lens: People.
When you’re in the thick of a job search (whether unemployed, exploring quietly, or just feeling restless) one truth stands out: people matter more than anything. You can have the title, salary, and perks, but if you’re reporting to the wrong leader or working in the wrong culture, you’ll shrink instead of grow.
Take a moment to reflect, not on your LinkedIn network, but on the humans who shape your energy and growth.
- Who has genuinely elevated you in your career?
- What kind of leader stretches you without breaking you?
- Who drains your energy and why?
- What kind of team, culture, or board do you want beside you next?
- And perhaps most importantly: who do you want to learn from next?
If you’re between roles, these questions help you avoid repeating old patterns. If you’re still employed but unfulfilled, they reveal why you may feel stuck and who you should be seeking out.
Because the goal isn’t just to be hired. It’s to be seen, supported, and stretched by the right people: those who help you step into your next chapter and elevate.
Practical Tip:
List three leaders or peers from your past who brought out your best. Next to each, jot down why. The patterns you notice will tell you more about where you thrive than any job description ever could.
